The setting for a perfect day for a wedding

Texas has some of the most bipolar weather - one day it rains and is freezing, and the next day, it's a sunny fall day. This is exactly how this wedding turned out. I was a little concerned with the days leading up to my friend's wedding that it wouldn't be forgiving. Though it's considered good luck to rain on a wedding day, it does mar the full outdoor wedding experience! Thankfully, the skies cleared up a few days prior. What else could you have wished for?

I wasn't the photographer for the wedding, but I was invited as a guest - this takes away so much stress in getting the shots. As a plus, it lets me get a little more creative with angles (without getting in the way of the official photographer).

Rule of thirds! The fundamental rule of composing a photo.

It's been tradition that I take a photo of the first dance if I'm a guest there - there's something about that genuine smile between the newlyweds that just puts a smile on my face. And plus, it makes for a great photo!

When snapping this photo, I tried to find the cleanest background I could, then I composed the shot. Remember, the rule of thirds is the easiest trick to learn and make a photo pleasing!
